Jasper County Sheriff Chuck Havard says a late Wednesday night traffic stop resulted in a drug arrest. It happened shortly after 11:00 on Highway 96 just north of Buna.
Havard said the driver, 47-year-old Christopher Alan Cormicle, of Colmesneil, had just under an ounce of methamphetamine and a small amount of marijuana.
Cormicle was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Sheriff Havard said “The methamphetamine epidemic affects our entire region and we are going to do everything we can to eradicate it in Jasper County and keep it away from our families.”
