TP&W drone located shooting and assault suspect hiding in Sabine County woods

Texas Parks & Wildlife says that one of their highly specialized drones recently helped with the capture of a man in Sabine County. The state agency says that the man, who wasn't identified, was accused of shooting at and physically assaulting two other people, and he then fled on foot into a wooded area. Game Warden Doug Williams was searching for the suspect at night during freezing temperatures, and the drone - equipped with a thermal camera - soon located the man curled up on the ground trying to hide. The report said the suspect was treated for hypothermia symptoms, and then taken to jail. According to Texas Parks & Wildlife Lieutenant Matthew Bridgefarmer, the drones are being used to locate lost boaters, hunters, and hikers, as well as those who are fleeing for criminal reasons.
