Information on the Sabine River Authority website says that as of Friday afternoon, Toledo Bend Dam has 5 gates open at 1 foot each. This comes after the lake level exceeded 172.50 feet, and the SRA says their operation guidelines stipulate that the gates are to be opened when the water is at that level. Additionally, Toledo Bend Dam is releasing water through both electrical generators 24 hours a day. As of Friday afternoon, Toledo Bend Dam was releasing 18,233 cubic feet of water per second. Meanwhile, the National Weather Service’s Advanced Hydrologic Prediction Service has updated their projections for peak levels and flooding down the Sabine River.
