Jasper Police are investigating the reported theft of copper pipe and other materials from the former Mary Dicker Memorial Hospital on Highway 96 South. Officers say it was recently discovered that someone had entered the facility, which has been closed for many years, and made away with the items. The incident comes as the Board of the Jasper Hospital District is considering what to do with the building, which is said to have deteriorated beyond repair, and the land upon which it sits. Police say so far there are no leads in the case.
