The DeRidder Police Department has received multiple complaints of park patrons being harassed by juveniles in the past two weeks. On Tuesday DeRidder Police Officers and Beauregard Parish Sheriff's Department Deputies began conducting undercover operations at Veterans Park in an attempt to identify the juveniles. At approximately 9:30 PM, undercover Officers entered the men's restrooms to find three juveniles exploding a vape, causing a fire in the restroom. A fire had just started in the women's restroom as well. The three male juveniles, all aged 15, were arrested and booked for Criminal Conspiracy to commit Simple Arson and Simple Arson. The juveniles are awaiting court hearings. Police will continue the random undercover operations and patrols throughout the parks in DeRidder.
