A teenager underwent hospital treatment after a Saturday afternoon wreck in Rayburn Country. Texas Department of Public Safety Sergeant Shana Clark said at about 1:30, 18-year-old Lucas Montes, of Brookeland, was driving a 2024 Kia Forte eastbound on Farm to Market 1007 near Lake Shore Drive. Sergeant Clark said Montes “…traveled around a curve at an unsafe speed and lost control, causing the vehicle to travel into the north ditch where it struck a tree.” Montes was transported by ambulance to Jasper Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
