Caddo Parish sheriff's deputies are investigating a fatal crash near Mira.
In a news release, Sheriff Steve Prator says a 29-year-old Vivian woman was eastbound in an SUV on the Mira Myrtis Road Wednesday morning when a log truck and trailer turning off Hosston Rodessa Road pulled in front of the SUV. Her vehicle then struck the back of the trailer.
Prator said the unidentified woman died at the scene. Her two passengers, ages 9 and 5, were taken to Ochsner LSU Health with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the log truck, Dezmon Love, 44, of Bivens, Texas, was issued a traffic citation for vehicle entering highway from private road, alley, driveway, or building.
Prator said the crash remains under investigation by the patrol division.
