LUFKIN, Texas (KTRE) - The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office reported that on June 19, Roganville Baptist Church had been broken into.
One suspect has been identified as Gavyn R. Deaton, 20, of Lufkin. The other is a 16 year old whose name will not be released.
Gavyn R. Deaton was picked up in Angelina County Thursday and placed into custody without incident.
The suspects, according to the arrest warrants, entered three buildings on the church property where they caused significant damage and stole several items.
Both suspects are charged with three counts of burglary of a building. Deaton will be extradited from Angelina County to Jasper County, Sheriff Chuck Havard said.
