A woman is dead following a police chase that begin in Jasper County on Thursday afternoon and ended in a crash near Pine Forest, in Orange County.
Orange County Sheriff Jimmy Mooney says the suspect in a stolen truck was traveling east on FM 1131 while Jasper County deputies were pursuing him late Thursday afternoon. According to the sheriff, the suspect tried to pass a motorcycle and pulled into the left-hand lane, striking an oncoming vehicle head-on near Barnhill Road in the Pine Forest area.
The driver of that other vehicle died and the suspect was taken to a hospital.
DPS Lt. Chuck Havard identifies the woman who died as Laurie Beth Seehusen, 58, of Vidor.
The DPS is overseeing the investigation with assistance from Orange County S.O.
