Newton County Sheriff Billy Rowles said late Tuesday a Bon Wier man who was captured on video violently dragging a woman by her hair and berating her has been located and arrested.
According to Rowles, his department received a tip that 32-year-old Anthony Armstrong was in a Nacogdoches motel room, so Nacogdoches Police went to that room, found him, and arrested him early Tuesday morning.
Armstrong was brought to the Newton County Jail on Tuesday afternoon, and he appeared to have been crying as he wore pink handcuffs while being walked inside.
The video of the incident was posted on Facebook by Bon Weir resident Tommy Gatson on Wednesday, April 15th, and since that time it has been shared thousands of times by residents in this region. Gatson said the incident occurred in his front yard, and the video, which only lasts 4 seconds, was shot by a child.
