KFDM in Beaumont is reporting that a suspect in the recent shooting death a man the South Park area of the city has surrendered to police after learning that they had obtained a warrant for his arrest.
Eighteen-year-old Charles Siggers is accused of shooting and killing of Rudolph Lassaint, 31, also of Beaumont on Friday evening.
Siggers was reportedly turned himself in at the Beaumont Police Department on Wednesday evening.
Police believe Siggers shot Lassaint as he drove his car in the 500 block of Woodrow not far Highland Drive, causing the vehicle to leave the street and crash in the front yard of a home.
KFDM anchor Aaron Mack asked Siggers if he had anything to say. However, Siggers remained silent.
Siggers is expected to be arraigned sometime Thursday.
So far no reason has been given for the shooting.
