The Jasper County Sheriff’s Department says a Kirbyville teenager is jailed and charged with Assault of Family or Household Member by Impeding Breath or Circulation following an incident in Buna.
Department spokeswoman Karli Cherry says that on Wednesday, Deputy Deputy Charles Willis and Lieutenant Investigator Jason Hollyfield responded to reports of an assault in Buna and during their investigation they learned that a juvenile Kirbyville student had been assaulted by another student.
According to Cherry, 18-year-old Charles Payne was arrested on the third-degree felony charge, and he remains in the Jasper County Jail under a $10,000.00 bond.
The identity of the alleged victim was not released and there’s no word on their condition.
