One person is dead and two others were injured in a tragic auto accident that occurred on Sunday morning in Lufkin.
Officers with the Lufkin Police Department said the crash occurred shortly after 10:00, when Kia and a Mercedes collided on College Drive, just east of Highway 59, near the entrance to the Texas Bible College.
Police said the driver of the Kia, Demarcus Hadnot, 26 of Pollock died at the scene. A passenger riding with Hadnot, Paige Turner, 24, was critically injured and after being treated in Lufkin was transferred to a hospital in Tyler, where she was at last word still undergoing treatment.
The driver of the Mercedes George Fidone, 65, received only minor injuries. However, a dog riding in the car with him was killed in the crash.
There is no word on what caused the crash and police there are still investigating the incident.
