Louisiana state troopers stopped the driver of a stolen Dallas, Texas ambulance after a high speed chase Sunday night.
The ambulance was reported stolen out of Dallas around 4 p.m., Troop G spokesman Brent Hardy said.
Troopers noticed the ambulance at the Bert Kouns exit on Interstate 20 East around 5:40 p.m. and gave chase. After the brief high speed chase, the driver eventually got stuck in traffic between the Airline and Industrial exits, Hardy said.
Police arrested Kendall Tyson,19, of Dallas. She faces charges in Dallas, Caddo and Bossier parishes.
Tyson was booked into Bossier Maximum Security Facility. She faces extradition to Texas.
Troopers suspect Tyson was driving impaired, Hardy said. In Bossier, she's charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, aggravated flight, resisting by false information, misrepresentation during booking, driving while intoxicated and no driver’s license.
The ambulance was towed before and will be returned to Texas.
Troopers don't know don't why she stole the ambulance or where she was going, Hardy said.
