The Sabine County Office of Emergency Management along with County Judge Daryl Melton said Tuesday that there are still no confirmed cases of Coronavirus in Sabine County.
The officials noted that so far, 16 tests had been performed on residents there with 11 of those tests coming back as negative, and currently there are 5 test which are still being processed at a laboratory.
Last week word spread across Sabine County about a person with the illness there. However, It turned out that although the person did work at the Georgia Pacific Mill in Pineland, the person was actually a resident of another county so they were counted among the Coronavirus cases in that county.
Judge Melton and the other officials said that multiple people who had been in close contact with the person at the facility in Pineland have since been and remain quarantined after that person tested positive for the illness.
