SHREVEPORT, La. -- A Shreveport police officer is on paid administrative leave following his arrest Saturday for driving while intoxicated.
Sgt. Roland Garner was arrested by coworkers who suspected him of being impaired while operating a vehicle.
Following standard procedure, he was arrested and taken to the Caddo Correctional Center, where he has since bonded out.
In accordance with departmental policy, Garner will remain on leave pending the outcome of the internal investigation.
Garner has been employed with the Shreveport Police Department since 2005.
"This is an unfortunate incident that does not reflect the values or professionalism of the Shreveport Police Department. We remain committed to accountability and transparency in all matters involving our personnel," according to a SPD news release.
