A homeowner used a water hose and held a brush fire at bay until Jasper firefighters arrived and completely doused it. The incident occurred shortly before 8:00 Thursday evening in the 3800 block of Farm to Market Road 2800 in the Westlake Community.
Angela Vidito said she grabbed her water hose and went to work on the flames. Meanwhile, the Jasper Fire Department arrived a short time later and took it from there.
It's not known what caused the fire.
