The sister of a starved Port Arthur child who weighed only 19 pounds at the time of his death, has been sentenced to 30 years in prison as part of a plea deal with the Jefferson County District Attorneys Office. The child, 4-year-old King Dewey, was found dead in the apartment where he lived on May 31st, 2022. Kirsten Louis stood before State District Judge Raquel West on Tuesday morning and entered a guilty plea on two charges of Injury to a Child. If she had gone to trial and had been found guilty, she could have been sentenced up to life in prison. Meanwhile, a trial is underway for Louis’ boyfriend, Jaylin Jevon Lewis, who is also charged with Injury to a Child and he faces up to life in prison if convicted. The mother of the child, Tina Louis, is awaiting trial on the same charge.
