Silsbee man arrested after fighting Tyler County deputies

Archived as originally published. Information reflects the date of this article.

Tyler County Sheriff Bryan Weatherford says a Silsbee man has gone to jail, but not before deputies had to fight him to get him into custody. According to Weatherford, on Wednesday, February 8th, deputies noticed a man walking during a heavy rainstorm in the middle of Farm to Market Road 1943 in the Warren Community. Weatherford said when deputies stopped to check on the man, he refused to stop walking and they determined that he was either intoxicated on alcohol or high on drugs, or both. Weatherford said when deputies tried to detain the man, Aaron Kirkendall, 42, of Silsbee, he began fighting them. After wrestling Kirkendall into custody he was taken to the Tyler County Jail and charged with Resisting Arrest, Terroristic Threats, and Public Intoxication. His bond was set at $5,000.00.
