They’re mourning in Silsbee where a 17-year-old Silsbee High School student was killed in a Monday morning crash. Silsbee Police Chief Shawn Blackwell says shortly after 7:00, Jaquez Carter, who was in his junior year, was driving a Mazda vehicle eastbound on Highway 327 when he tried to make a left turn but turned into the path of a westbound 18-wheeler which struck his vehicle on the passenger side. Carter was pronounced dead at the scene, while the truck driver was uninjured.
