SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - The Shreveport Police Department (SPD) has arrested multiple people in connection with the alleged human trafficking and sexual assault of a 14-year-old juvenile.
The juvenile, originally reported as a runaway from New Jersey, was safely located by Shreveport police officers. Upon investigation, detectives discovered the juvenile had been involved in a violent sexual incident with multiple individuals.
SPD’s juvenile services detectives, alongside the sex crimes unit, obtained arrest warrants for Daiquan Blackman. On October 22, just after 2 p.m., the special response team executed these warrants at an apartment complex near the intersection of Forum Drive and Hearn Avenue, resulting in Blackman’s arrest.
Vice unit detectives initiated an investigation into the human trafficking aspect of the case, leading to additional arrests:
- Malina Caldwell was charged with two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, one count of indecent behavior with juveniles, and felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile
- Daiquan Blackman was charged with two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile and two counts of indecent behavior with juveniles
- Keyana Anderson was charged with one count of indecent behavior with a juvenile, one count of felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile, and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of juveniles
The investigation is ongoing, with additional charges, including rape and human trafficking, anticipated in the coming days.
SPD is working closely with the Caddo Parish District Attorney’s Office and the New Jersey State Police on this matter.
The juvenile is now safe.
SPD said individuals who exploit and harm children will be held fully accountable under the law.
