SHREVEPORT, La. - Shreveport police responded to a report of an armed individual at the Walmart at 1125 Shreveport Barksdale Highway shortly after 10 a.m. Tuesday. According to dispatch, a white male suspect was seen banging on a car window with a knife, attempting to assault someone inside the vehicle. Officers received updated information upon arrival indicating that the suspect was walking in the 1200 block of Shreveport Barksdale Highway. They quickly located and apprehended the suspect without incident. An investigation revealed that the victim, a woman feeding homeless individuals in the Walmart parking lot, was aggressively approached by the suspect, who was reportedly upset after being woken up. Officers recovered the knife used in the incident and interviewed witnesses who corroborated the victim’s account. No injuries were reported. The suspect, identified as Harley Mains, was charged with felony possession of marijuana, aggravated criminal property damage, and aggravated assault.
