The suspected gunman in what is believed to be a murder-suicide has been named by Claiborne Parish authorities.
The suspect in the Thursday shooting death of Janette West, 43 of Homer has been identified as Question Woods, 36 of Haynesville, according to Sheriff Ken Bailey.
Around 6 p.m. Thursday, authorities responded to a 911 call for help at a residence in the 1100 block of White Oak Road, where they found West dead. She had been shot in her own front yard.
Woods was later located just miles away inside his pickup truck on Highway 534 in neighboring Haynesville, where authorities say he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Bailey could not confirm or comment on what may have led to homicide, but did confirm that the pair was reportedly dating and that West’s son was present at the residence when the incident occurred. It remains unclear at this time as to who made the 911 call.
