Newton County Sheriff Robert Burby said Thursday that his department has developed some leads in the investigation of the Sunday, November 10th murder of 16-year-old Jerome “JJ” Rambo, of Burkeville. Rambo was shot at about 4:00am at the Elam Event Center on Highway 190 just west of Newton and he died shortly after arrival at Jasper Memorial Hospital. Burby is asking for anyone who was at that location either Saturday night or Sunday morning and has any cell phone photos or videos to share them with his investigators.
