Sheriff Aaron Mitchell, Chief Deputy Brad Walker, and the Sabine Parish Sheriff's Office continue their commitment to safety on Toledo Bend Lake. The Sheriff's Office has been training a dive team over the past year to serve our residents, those who call Sabine Parish their second home, and the many visitors who enjoy our beautiful lake. We have several deputies who have completed the requirements to qualify as Public Safety Divers. We are proud of these deputies and their dedication to be part of this team. Any work they do with the dive team is in addition to their regular duties of protecting the public. These deputies have truly gone "above and beyond" for this community they chose to serve and protect. These divers are needed if unfortunate events occur on the lake and in criminal cases that require evidence recovery, as we continue our commitment to solving crimes in our area. We work in conjunction with all local fire districts and their divers. Together there are over 30 divers in the parish that are dedicated to responding to these types of calls. Sheriff Mitchell wants to remind everyone as the holiday weekend approaches, you should always practice good water safety. The Sabine Parish Sheriffs Office will continue to make Sabine Parish a safe place to call home for all our families.
