Deputies with the Jasper County Sheriff's Department are investigating the death of a man in the Lake Rayburn Area.
Officer John Cooper said he and others were dispatched to a home on Wingate Boulevard shortly after 8:00 on Monday evening, when it was reported that a man had been found dead in his bed.
Cooper said there was no sign of foul play and that it appeared the shooting death of 67 year old Norman Horn was self inflicted. However, he did not say whether the incident was intentional or accidental.
Horn was pronounced dead at the scene by Jasper County Precinct 5 Justice of the Peace Brett Holloway.
