Sheriff Aaron Mitchell and several of his Deputies attended advanced leadership training in Shreveport last week.
The FBI-LEEDA Supervisor Leadership Institute (SLI) is a cutting-edge seminar developed uniquely for supervisors and middle managers to enhance leadership competencies. The course is highly interactive and follows FBI-LEEDA's “Cops Teaching Cops” model of professional development. While targeting first-line supervisors, the Supervisor Leadership Institute course is suitable for all police leaders.
They learned leadership skills which will help them in their daily supervisor roles. Deputies thoroughly examined the concepts of credibility, accountability and motivation, while becoming familiar with aspects of liability and discipline that are vital to leadership at all levels of law enforcement.
Topics included:
- Supervisory Leadership
- Supervisory Credibility and Authenticity
- Law Enforcement Liability
- Police Discipline
- DISC Behavior and Leadership
- Leading Generations
Sheriff Mitchell thanks Chief Wayne Smith and the Shreveport Police Department for their hospitality last week.
