Officials at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches have announced that the Annual Homecoming Bonfire and Fireworks Show, which was slated for this weekend, has been cancelled. The move is due to a burn ban in effect in Nacogdoches County because of very dry conditions that are conducive to the spread of wildfires. However, school officials say that a homecoming concert will go on as planned, and instead of fireworks, they'll entertain the students and alumni with a drone light show that will feature one hundred drones. Meanwhile, Kirbyville CISD announced last week that the Homecoming Bonfire scheduled for this week was cancelled due to the burn ban here in Jasper County. The SFA Homecoming Game will have the 4-3 Lumberjacks hosting the 3-4 Southern Utah Thunderbirds on Saturday at 2:OO p.m., while the Kirbyville Homecoming Game will have the 2-6 Wildcats hosting the 3-4 Hardin Hornets on Friday at 7:3o p.m.
