A violent collision in The Avenues neighborhood of Beaumont has injured several people, including an elderly woman and a child, according to Beaumont police. Two vehicles collided at about 7:45 p.m. Monday near Washington and Avenue A. At least one vehicle was briefly on fire and some of those injured were trapped in the vehicles until first responders could free them. A bystander told KFDM he also helped free children who were trapped, Beaumont police, four EMS units and fire responded. They say those injured include an elderly woman, a man with a possible leg injury, and a child with a possible head injury. Ambulances transported several patients to hospitals.
