Following almost exactly 7 days of searching day and night sheriff deputies and others have found the body of 60 year old Steven Morgan, the Buna man that drowned on Friday a week ago. Jasper County Sheriff Chuck Havard said the body of Morgan was found at 4:10 on Friday afternoon in Ten Acre Slough, not far from where his boat was found shortly after he was reported missing. The last time that anyone heard from Morgan was a around 4:30 on Friday February 23rd when he reportedly called his wife and told her that he his boat had overturned on the slough which was located northwest of Buna and west of County Road 701. Sheriff Havard said that Morgan's wife said that he told her that he made it to a small island or ridge and was ok. However, when sheriff's deputies arrived at the scene they were not able to find any sign of Morgan, prompting the beginning of the search that utilized men from various groups and agencies along with many pieces of equipment.
