The National Forest Service says as of Saturday evening, the wildfire in the Sabine National Forest had grown to over 900 acres in size. The blaze has been burning since Monday, July 24th in an area between Hemphill and the Toledo Bend Reservoir. Fortunately, the forest service says there is still no threat to any structures. Meanwhile, firefighting efforts continue both on the ground and from the air by use of a helicopter making water drops. The forest service says the blaze began as the result of a lightning strike from a passing thunderstorm.
