(KSLA) — Some public secondary and college students will get an extra day off this week.
PARISH SCHOOL SYSTEMS
All Sabine and Natchitoches parish public school campuses will remain closed Tuesday (Jan. 21) due to expected wintry weather conditions.
The schools already will be closed Monday (Jan. 20) due to the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
“This decision was made after collaboration with local authorities and the National Weather Service,” Sabine Public Schools posted Sunday afternoon (Jan. 19) on Facebook. “We will continue monitoring this winter weather event and inform everyone if further closures are needed. The safety of our students, staff and families remains our top priority.”
The Natchitoches Parish School Board posted a similar message Saturday (Jan. 18) afternoon on Facebook.
“By announcing this closure early, we hope to give families time to plan and prepare,” the statement says.
“We will continue to monitor conditions and keep you updated regarding school operations for Wednesday, January 22. We hope everyone enjoys the snow day and stays warm! ❄️☃️”
