(Hemphill, Texas) On June 16, 2025, the Sabine County Sheriff’s Office, along the Hemphill Police Department responded to an unscheduled and unexpected test of the Hemphill Independent School District emergency alert which was broadcast over the Sheriff’s Department radio via an automated system. The automated broadcast indicated that there was an emergency at the High School. Deputies and Officers arrived within two minutes to the High School.
There was no emergency and nothing was found to be unusual. More importantly, there were no injuries to school employees and all Deputies and Officers returned to service shortly after arriving.
