Remains of man missing since 2024 located in abandoned Henderson County house

HENDERSON COUNTY, Texas (KLTV) - A 28-year-old East Texas man who went missing in 2024 has been located deceased, Sheriff Botie Hillhouse said.

Brady Booth went missing in September 2024. It was not unusual for him to lose contact with family from time to time, so he was reported missing in early October, Hillhouse said.

Brownsboro Police Department was the lead agency in the search for Booth, and were assisted by Henderson County Sheriff’s Office, but he was never located.

On Monday of this week, Hillhouse said, a man entered an abandoned house on Henderson County Road 3603 and found what he believed to be human remains. Law enforcement responded to the structure. They found that this house was close to a house where Booth had lived previously, Hillhouse noted.

Though the remains were quite decomposed after nearly two years, the clothing was identifiable as the same clothing Booth was wearing in surveillance video the last time he was seen in 2024, Hillhouse said.

A preliminary autopsy report showed no physical injury and did confirm that it was Brady Booth. A toxicology report was ordered and will take up to 12 weeks to come back.

“We are just glad we were able to give his family some closure,” Hillhouse said.
