The Texas Department of Public Safety has announced that an employee of the Polk County Sheriff's Department has been arrested for theft. According to a statement released on Friday by DPS, the sheriff's department in February requested the Texas Rangers to step in and investigate 38-year-old Jessica David. Texas Rangers say that David "...misappropriated inmate funds for approximately three years for personal use." David, who is the Office Manager over both the sheriff's department and the county jail, was booked into the county jail in Livingston on a second-degree felony charge of Theft by a Public Servant. The Texas Rangers noted that the investigation is continuing.
