A 79-year-old man out walking his dog late Tuesday night was hit and killed by a vehicle that left the scene, according to Shreveport police.
A cash reward is being offered for information on the person or persons responsible.
The victim, Rodney R. Self, was found about 11:15 p.m. in the 600 block of McCormick Street by a family member who went looking for him after being concerned he had not returned home. Self left his residence about an hour earlier.
Self was pronounced dead at the scene.
The make, model or description of the vehicle that hit Self is unknown.
SPD crash investigators hope someone in the area may have seen or heard something to help identify the person or persons who were in the vehicle.
