Beaumont police are investigating a reported robbery during which one person was briefly held at gunpoint. Police responded to the robbery in progress call at about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 2500 block of Monroe near Lucas in north Beaumont. The caller reported watching the robbery as it unfolded. Police say at one point during the crime, two people were holding someone at gunpoint, but the suspects ran away before officers arrived. Police set up a perimeter and searched for the suspects but weren't able to find them.
