No serious injuries were reported following a single vehicle auto accident that occurred just after midnight on Sunday morning at the intersection of Highways 190 and 96 and the parking lot of the Brookshire Brothers Store.
Police and firemen arrived at the location to find an early model Chevrolet pickup truck, which appeared to have been headed south on Highway 96, had left the road, struck a small tire filling station and turned over, before landing right-side up next to store's fuel pumps.
The driver and two passengers of the truck were able to get out on their own and standing near the vehicle and did not appear to be injured.
What caused the truck to leave the roadway is not known and an official police report has not been released. However, what is known is that the crash occurred as heavy rains fell in the area.
No fire resulted from the incident.
