PALESTINE, Texas (KLTV) - Two people are behind bars after a stolen Oklahoma vehicle was found in Palestine. An officer with the Palestine Police Department responded to a Starbucks parking lot around 1 p.m. Thursday after the department was told of the suspects' location. After seeing the silver Hyundai and confirming it was stolen, the officer stopped the vehicle and attempted to detain Jimmie Payne, 18, of Oklahoma. Payne struggled with the officer and ran away. Caleb Bush, 22, of Oklahoma, also fled, according to a release from the Palestine Police Department. Both Payne and Bush were later found and taken to the Anderson County Jail. They are charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, resisting arrest, search or transport, and evading arrest/detention. The vehicle was recovered and the owners were contacted.
