The Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Department says a pair of very large drug busts in recent days has resulted in the arrest of two people.
Sheriff Sam Craft says the first occurred on Monday at a house in Leesville where deputies found large amounts of Cocaine, Methamphetamine, Ecstasy, and Synthetic Marijuana, along with several stolen guns.
Craft said Bryan Daniel Kidd, 30, of Leesville, was arrested and bond was set at $350,000.00 after the following charges:
~ Two counts of Possession of a Schedule II Narcotic with the Intent to Distribute (Methamphetamine/Ecstasy)
~ One count of Possession of Cocaine in excess of 400grams
~ One count of Possession of Methamphetamine in excess of 28 grams
~ One count of Illegal Possession of a firearm while in possession of a controlled dangerous substance
~ One count of Illegal possession of stolen firearms
~ One count of Possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute
~ One count of Possession of synthetic cannabinoids with the intent to distribute
~ One count of Possession of Cocaine in excess of 28 grams
Sheriff Craft said the second drug bust occurred on Wednesday and it netted a person who investigators say was selling a large amount of drugs at motels.
Craft said investigators began monitoring 29-year-old Courtland E. King, of Alexandria, and arrested him at a motel in New Llano where Craft said he had more than 400 grams of methamphetamine in his possession.
Bond on King has not yet been set, but Sheriff Craft said he was charged with the following crimes:
~ One count of Possession of a Schedule II Narcotic (Methamphetamine) with the Intent to Distribute
~ One count of Possession of Methamphetamine in excess of 400 grams
~ Two outstanding Bench Warrants
