Over 13,000 still without power across SWLA

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Over 13,200 residents across Southwest Louisiana are still without power this morning following yesterday’s storms according to Entergy and BECi. The National Weather Service is also currently working to confirm any tornadoes that touched down in our area. As a result of the power outages, there are several school closures today which can be found HERE. The Safety Council in Sulphur is also closed this morning due to the outages. Also, due to a power outage at the City of Sulphur’s water plants, the entire city is currently under a boil advisory. Because of the outages, there are also a number of traffic lights that are out. Authorities remind motorists that if you reach a traffic light that does not have power, you should treat it as a 4-way stop.
