Orange man charged with threatening Speaker of the House Dade Phelan

An Orange man has been arrested and is accused of threatening Texas State Representative and Speaker of the House Dade Phelan (R-Beaumont). Daniel Troy LeBlanc, 44, was arrested by Special Agents with the Texas Department of Public Safety and he is charged with one felony count of Terroristic Threats. Bond on LeBlanc was set at $500,000.00 and at last word he remained behind bars. According to the DPS, LeBlanc made the threats against Phelan on multiple social media platforms. However, specific details about what those threats said were not disclosed. Phelan is currently up for re-election and he faces a challenge in the Tuesday, March 5th Primary from GOP candidates Alicia Davis of Jasper County and David Covey of Orange County.
