The Texas Department of Public Safety said 36 year old Candice Sfamuri of Spurger was pronounced dead by Jasper County Precinct 3 Justice of the Peace Mike Smith following a single vehicle auto accident that occurred at about 4:30 pm on Wednesday on County Road 569, south of Kirbyville.
Officers said the crash occurred when a 2017 Ford pickup truck, which was apparently traveling northbound at a high rate of left left the roadway and struck a tree.
The driver of the truck, 42-year-old Charles Kellum of Kirbyville, was transported to St.Elizabeth hospital where he was at last word still undergoing treatment for what was said to be serious injuries.
