The Texas Department of Public Safety says the driver of an SUV was injured when she collided with a pickup truck late Tuesday morning. It happened shortly after 11:00 on Highway 96 near Business 96 in Buna. Sergeant Shana Clark said 51-year-old Geneva Wright, of Buna, was driving northbound in a 2015 Jeep SUV, while 63-year-old Herbert Lutz, of Bronson, was driving southbound in a 2020 Ford pickup truck. Clark said Lutz turned in front of Wright's vehicle, resulting in the front of the SUV hitting the passenger side of the truck. According to Clark, Wright was transported by ambulance to St Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, while Lutz was not injured. Sergeant Clark said Lutz received a citation on a charge Failure to Yield Right-of-Way.
