A man is in custody and charged following a weekend shooting in Sabine County. Daily News & More is reporting that it occurred shortly before 8:oo p.m. on Saturday at a location on Highway 87 near Reeves Road in the Milam Community, about 10 miles north of Hemphill. The Sabine County Sheriff's Department has not yet released specific information about the incident other than it occurred during a disturbance, or the name of the victim. We do know that the victim was initially taken by ambulance to the hospital in Hemphill, and then flown to the LSU Medical Center in Shreveport. As for the suspect, Roger Lee Williams, of Hemphill, was arrested and is being held under a $455,000.00 bond on the following charges:
- Three counts of Aggravated Assault with a Weapon
- One count of Resisting Arrest
- One count of Abandoning/Endangering a Child
- One count of Tampering with Physical Evidence
- One count of Deadly Conduct-Discharge of a Firearm
