| One person is dead following a two-vehicle auto accident that occurred on Tuesday evening near Kirbyville. The accident occurred about a half mile south on Highway 96. Preliminary reports indicate that an eighteen wheeler that was towing a pole trailer was struck by an Acura passenger car which was northbound. The driver of the vehicle who has been identified as 35 year old Joshua Davis of Kirbyville was pronounced dead at the scene by Jasper County Precinct 3 Justice of the Peace Mike Smith. The driver of the eighteen wheeler, who was only identified as a 61 year old man from Jasper was not injured in the crash. Officers from both the Kirbyville Police Department and the Texas Department of Public Safety are still investigating the accident. |
