A woman was arrested after fleeing from a state trooper, it happened shortly before 7:00 Saturday evening here in Jasper County. Texas Department of Public Safety Sergeant Shana Clark said a trooper tried to stop the driver of a 2023 Volkswagen SUV for speeding on Highway 96 between Kirbyville and Buna. However, the driver refused to stop and the chase continued for about 7 miles until the driver finally stopped on Highway 96 at Farm to Market Road 1004. Sergeant Clark said the driver, 46-year-old Andrea McWilliams, of Dallas, was arrested and will be charged with Fleeing or Attempting to Elude a Police Officer.
