Jasper County Sheriff Chuck Havard said Sunday that the quick actions of deputies from his department along with Angelia County had resulted in the rescue of an alleged kidnapping victim and the arrest of a suspect in the case.
According to Havard officers from Jasper County became involved in the case shortly after 4:00 on Sunday morning when they were notified by officers in Angelia County that the alleged kidnapping had occurred in the Plum Ridge community and that the male suspect had taken the female victim to a trailer at the Bass Buster Inn on Recreational Road 255 at Lake Rayburn
Within a short time, officers from both Jasper and Angelina County converged on the location, where they found the suspect Clayton Sexton, 30, of Silsbee, and arrested him. The victim, who was not identified by the officers was located in the bedroom of the trailer they said she did not appear to be hurt.
Sexton was taken to Lufkin where he was at last word still being held in the Angelina County Jail and word is that in addition to being charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon other charges might be forthcoming.
Following operation, Sheriff Chuck Havard said "I want to acknowledge and thank our deputies and deputies with ACSO for professionally handling this situation so quickly,"
