No serious injuries following Wednesday evening auto crash

Archived as originally published. Information reflects the date of this article.

No serious injuries were reported following a single vehicle auto accident that occurred on Wednesday evening on the east side of Jasper. The crash occurred shortly before 10 on Highway 190, near the intersection of Bevil Loop Road and radio station KTXJ.

Police investigating the incident said the unidentified female driver of the Nissan Altima sedan told them that she was headed east on Highway 190 and a deer ran across the road in front of her.

The incident occurred as a very light rain fell in the area and it is believed that as the driver swerved to avoid the deer, the car slid to the south side of the road and hit a guard rail.

The volunteers of the Jasper Fire Department were dispatched to the scene, but no fire resulted from the incident.
