No injuries were reported following a bizarre accident that occurred on Thursday evening, west of Jasper on Highway 190, near the intersection of Farm to Market Road 1747.
The volunteers of the Beech Grove Fire Department were dispatched to the location shortly after 8:00, when it was reported that an eighteen wheeled tractor trailer truck had been struck by another vehicle.
Emergency personnel at the scene said it was believed the Freightliner, which was traveling west with a load of cotton was struck by a wide, load which was eastbound with what appeared to be a large tank or vessel on a special trailer built for such freight.
Although it's not known if there was any damage to the wide load, the sleeper and trailer of the Freightliner were damaged.
Firemen said it was later reported that the wide load had been located at a truck stop in Jasper. However, it unknown if that was the actual vehicle involved in the accident or what caused it.
State Troopers are investigating the incident.
